This past Monday we were joined by UNCG basketball standouts Amanda Leigh and Monique "Mo" Floyd. I learned after the show that Amanda prefers to go by "Leigh", which is not uncommon in the sporting world. Sadly I mistakenly called her "Amanda" for the duration of the show. We chatted with the ladies for about 30 minutes or so and learned a few new things. Supposedly coach Agee (now in her 30th season as head coach here at UNCG) has some pretty killer dance moves, and we learned that women are smarter than men (Leigh's words not mine, though I have to agree to an extent.) Both Mo and Leigh are fantastic ball players capable of scoring in double figures every night. If you haven't been out to see them play yet, then you should. Their next home game is Feb. 7 at noon in Flemming gym. I know its an odd time, but it will be far more interesting than class.
This week we will have a quick interview with former UNCG soccer player and rising country music star Karla Davis. She will be promoting her newest album as well as talking some soccer and UNCG sports with us....you don't want to miss it. And just so everyone know, we are having a running wager on The Sports Cycle until the Super Bowl. With both Matt and Ryan rooting for their respective teams, we've decided that the loser should have to do some kind of forfeit. If you have any suggestions you can leave a comment here, leave a comment on our Facebook page, email us at wuagsports@gmail.co or call in during the show (336-334-5450.) We'd love to hear everyone's suggestions
