He is a man of many nicknames. The Big Diesel, Shaq Fu, The Big Cactus, The Big Aristotle, Shaqovic, The Big Shaqctus, The Real Deal, and now maybe Shaquille O'Neal can add The Big Shamrock to his list of witty nicknames. That's right, Shaq recently signed a 2 year $2.8 million contract with The Boston Celtics. Maybe Shaq should consider adding The Big suitcase to his arsenal of nicknames, as he has now played in Orlando, Los Angeles, Miami, Phoenix, Cleveland and now Boston. All of those teams were rather succesful while he was there, as he won three championships with L.A. and one with Miami. At 38 years old (The Big Pops?, or granshaqi?) he is the oldest active player in the NBA. It's pretty obvious he wants one more shot at a ring before he retires, and it was unlikely he would get that chance in Cleveland............you know, with LeBron leaving and all. Weirdly enough Shaq will join a seemingly young version of himself in Glenn Davis, which should make for a good combo at center. I really have to hand it to Shaq, he is wiling to take the league minimum for veterans and will likely come off the bench for The Celtics next season. There are many guys who wouldn't be able to put their egos aside to do that. If adding another aged player to their roster is a good move for Boston, it will be better assessed next summer after the 2011 season, but there is reason for fans to be skeptical as they now have several guys over 3o who will be expected to play a big role for this team down the stretch. Should be interesting.
