For now, it looks as though I'll be making a lot of updates similar to this. So the news says that the Knicks have signed Amare Stoudemire to a 5 year $99.7 million deal. While some New York fans will disagree me, this is a great deal for the Knicks. Most people wouldnt really expect the Knicks to sign LeBron when he's looking to sign with a championship contending team (my intramurals team is about as likely to make the NBA fplayoffs next season as the Knicks.) With Wade likely staying in Miami and Chris Bosh probably going wherever LeBron goes, it really came down to signing either Stoudemire ,Joe Johnson, Carlos Boozer or trying to re sign David Lee. I cant say what effect this will have in regards to the Knicks ability to either sign another free agent, or if it hurts their chances at keeping Lee. Some feel it may have a dominoe effect and attract other people to sign in the Big Apple, while critics of the signing say it destroys thier chances at signing Dwayne Wade or LeBron, since money is now tied up with Stoudemire. I have no idea what the Knicks budget looks likem but I'd guess they can probably sging a mid level free agent to help out. Regardless of what happens next The Knicks cant be worse than they were last year. I like Stoudemire and for the better part of his career he has been a force to be reckoned with and there is no reason to believe hes is close to being done. Posts on the World Cup and the MLB All-Star game to come soon.
