For the game today, I, along with my co-host Ryan (who has yet to make a post on here) went to the Carousel theatre to watch the game. I have to say after seeing that game on such a huge screen it will be hard for me to watch games on a regualr tv now. The game got off to a bad start, when at the 5' mark, Prince, the douche bag midfielder for Ghana scored the first goal of the game. The U.S continued to play sloppy for the entire first half and trailed 0-1 after 45 minutes. With a new half and fresh 45 minutes the U.S looked like a new team. Landon donovan continued his heroics as he scored off of a penalty kick in the 62nd minute. That was a pretty cool moment at the theatre. The place erupted, people were hugging and high-fiving and chanting "USA!!! USA!!!". It wasnt meant to be though, because the U.S failed to capatalize on any oppourtunities and took this thing into OT. Sadly Asamoah Gyan scored a goal for Ghana just 3 minutes into OT, and it was too much for the U.S to overcome.Ghana wins 2-1. But that is a big part of being a sports fan, being disapointed . But the U.S fought hard in each game they played and I am very proud of my country. I'd really like to see Ghana do well now, rather than the power houses like Germany and England. Also, Bill Clinton and mick Jagger were at the game today and I have to admit, thats one set of box seats I would really liked to have been in (usually not a fan of the box seats, I gotta be down in the crowd with the fans.) There were some other unusual stories in sports this week, but you will have to tune in to The Sports Cycle this Monday at 6 pm to hear them. We stream live at http://wuag.net/, or if you live in Greensboro, NC then tune to 103.1 fm. You better listen, we have ways of checking up on these things.
